Adventure Time

a quick adventure

Wednesdays

11 - 11:30am

June & July

Free

Ages 7+

Adults do not have to accompany the child during activities, but they MUST stay at the Great Plains Nature Center.

Meeting place: In front of the main entrance of the GPNC.

Description: Every week we will go on a different adventure, exploring animals, plants, and the amazing nature in Kansas. Activities will vary between hikes, animal programs, and various nature activities. We will be outside as much as possible, weather permitting.

COVID 19 considerations: If Phase 3 of the governor’s plan does begin on June 1st, individuals who attend the program may self monitor, staying home if they feel sick and making sure to adhere to personal hygiene guidelines.

Hand sanitizer will be available as well as bathrooms inside for washing hands. Any equipment used will be sanitized before and after the program. If individuals would like to continue social distancing or if the Governor decides this is still a necessary measure when Adventure Time begins, there will be ample space outside to allow for distancing and activities will be adjusted to allow for this.

June Topics:

  • 6/3 - Frog Calls
  • 6/10 - Microhabitats
  • 6/17 - Snake Hike
  • 6/24 - Birdwatching
