Thank you for helping make the Delilah Reed Outdoor Mural Project possible!
At our Art on the Trail event in 2024, Delilah's stunning mural was unveiled. This mural was painted on the south and east sides of an existing outdoor restroom facility maintained by the City of Wichita Department of Park & Recreation at the Great Plains Nature Center in Chisholm Creek Park. The mural features a native Kansas wildlife theme and colorful palette to serve as a visual anchor and photo opportunity. Outdoor murals create a unique sense of place for visitors, and this one serves as a reminder of the value of the living wildlife at the Great Plains Nature Center as they explore our nature trails.
This project was approved by the City of Wichita and Design Council in partnership with the Great Plains Nature Center. This artwork was made possible through the generous contributions of the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission, the National Endowment for the Arts, Friends of the Great Plains Nature Center, Wichita Park & Recreation, and Nancy Anderson.
